New vinyls and bicycles have appeared in the windows and 'catwalk space' at Old St. We're hosting a launch party on Friday 18th March to celebrate.
Roll by to meet the Bobbin Bicycles team, Shoreditch based husband and wife team Tom Morris and Sian Emmison. Look at their beautiful bikes, enjoy free food and drink, and discover their new 2016 range.
If you can't make it. Read more about the display:
First up is the Metric, a small-wheeled utility version of the Noodle, inspired by Bobbin's recent visit to Kyoto.
‘Mini-velo’ or adult bikes are a huge trend in Japan where they are stored in tiny apartments and used to zip around the city on errands. It doesn’t fold, which means the frame is elegantly slim, light and more rigid than a folder. Fitted with a handy front rack (removable if you like), it’s surprisingly sporty and fast.
The Cambridge Racer
Above the Metric is a Bobbin Bicycles official University of Cambridge exclusive. Produced in collaboration with the prestigious school of learning, this bike is inspired by the University's heritage and sophistication. All bikes in this range feature the iconic crest, logo, and snappy Cambridge Blue detailing. Saddle up for a first class ride!
It's a refined racing-tourer, perfect for speedy missions or simply for cruising across town. Featuring a luxurious University of Cambridge leather saddle and matching honey-coloured soft leather handlebar tape. Matching chromed full mudguards with leather mudflap, gumwall tyres and 16-speed gears complete this gem of a bike.
One of Bobbin's signature bikes. Thousands of women swish around town and along country lanes on this trademark lugged frame. With no-fuss hub gears, mudguards and rear rack, the Birdie is practical, beautiful and magically smooth to ride. Featuring sophisticated matte paintwork, cream tyres and a comfy Bobbin sprung saddle, the Birdie is a classic bike with soul. Useful features like the full chainguard keep your clothes intact on the way to the shops, while the upright riding position is great for seeing and being seen.
New feature for 2016: An 8 speed gear option – perfect for tackling bigger hills.
The Brownie is a simple looped-frame bicycle, designed for women who want a sturdy, classic bike that can handle a few hills. It features cream tyres, stylish gloss paintwork, a comfy Bobbin sprung saddle, 7 speed Shimano gears and comes in a large range of sizes and colours.
New for 2016: Moody Blue & Raspberry (available end of March 2016).
The Dark Star
The Dark Star looms at the end of the cafe. It cuts through the cityscape with a technical set-up suited to distance commuting and trips out of town. It's a great alternative to usual hybrids. It features a nimble TIG-welded steel frame, 16 gears and smooth hydraulic disc brakes. With flatter bars and a wide range of gears, it'll get you up big hills, while the 700x32c tyres can tackle unruly city streets or country lanes.
New for 2016: This model now comes with mudguards and practical brown wall tyres.
Gingersnap Balance Bike
Finally, the cutest bike of them all, the Gingersnap Balance Bike.
It's a great way to get children started on their own Bobbin adventures. With a gloss paint finish and colour-matched wheels, it also comes with an extremely cute wicker basket. Easy to carry, the frame, styling and position perfectly mirrors our adult’s range. Customise with a special Bobbin sticker pack for an individual touch. Perfect for the mini-me in your life!

Find out more about Bobbin Bicycles
"We established Bobbin in 2007 because we wanted to spread the joy of cycling to people who love life but aren’t bike nerds."
"...Before Bobbin we studied art and worked for some interesting entrepreneurs in the marketing, art and design worlds. We’d spent many summers gliding around the lanes of France with friends, powered by sunshine, camembert and calvados. We met in Amsterdam, where commuting can be a joy when you’re flying along in the middle of a giant flock of cyclists!
In London we couldn’t find any bike shops or bike brands aimed at people like us. That’s why we created Bobbin. Our inspirations came from outside the bike world: the colour palette of Dick Bruna; 1960’s London and the deceptively simple utopias of Tove Jannson.
"Bobbin is a utopian brand. Our world is populated with different bikes and riders cutting across the landscape with grace, style and efficiency."
Our business journey has taken many twists and turns from the early years selling brightly-coloured Dutch bikes out of our tiny London atelier, to opening the world’s first bike boutique and going on to influence the way bikes are designed and marketed to women and leisure cyclists globally. We’ve picked up a few accolades along the way and met some very interesting and sometimes rather famous customers.
Our range of leisure and commute bikes are sold in the UK and though a growing network of partners overseas. We are delighted to welcome new friends into our world and share our love of two-wheeled adventuring."
