Ride Africa are hosting their first all women focussed bike ride from 6th - 13th July, tackling 450km over 6 days across the breathtaking Kenyan landscape.
Join us on Thursday 21st March to hear from a panel of riders ready to take on the challenge alongside an experienced Ride Africa cyclist. The ride is in support of the Team Mum campaign, raising money to form pregnancy support groups in rural Kenya - where 1 in 26 babies don't reach their first birthday. On the sixth day of the cycle you meet the women you'll be directly impacting at Child.org's projects.
Host: TV Sports Presenter Laura Winter.
Fabienne O'Neill - co-founder of Cuckooz & Cuckooz Nest
Fab who along with her business partner Charlie Rosier, are two fast moving entrepreneurs who met at an event they were collaborating on, Young Entrepreneurs In Property about 10 years ago and became great friends and business partners. Initially setting up Cuckooz, which offers beautiful design led serviced apartments as an alternative to a hotel stay. Fab is from a media and publishing background and Charlie's background is in property. More recently Charlie had a daughter which provided the inspiration and motivation to launch Cuckooz Nest, which is clever co-working space with a creche built in and provides a perfect environment in supporting Mums back to work.
Eve Riddle is a force in the non-profit world helping a whole range of charities improve their fundraising strategies - leaning on an incredible career at Macmillan Cancer Support. A mum of two, she's recently joined the board of Child.org and is throwing herself into it by joining the all women's Ride Africa in July.
Kim Montgomery is part of the women in tech revolution - as CEO (and CTO) of writing startup Novlr. A mum of one, with another on the way, she is a huge supporter of the Team Mum campaign. Kim took on Ride Africa in 2016 completing the ride with her husband Steven, neither of them having ever done a big cycle ride before. She remembers it being brutal and hot but an incredible achievement she'll look back on as a highlight.
