A series of cycling themed prints by Gareth Llewhellin are now on display at 49 Old St. until mid November.
Originally from London, Gareth now lives in beautiful Somerset with his wife and 2 boys and is passionate about bikes, coffee and fresh air.
A commercial artist and designer with over 25 professional years under his belt, he decided to take his love of cycling into colour exploring the colours and passion of this wonderful sport. Breaking away from the restraints of clean edges and restraint he decided to explore a more natural finish his cycling designs. Each design is created by hand and captures the history of cycling then and now. Packing a punch, they take inspiration for colour pallets from the vibrancy of the peloton in each design. Using screen inks to create the backgrounds for each design he allows the roller to create his borders. Some are clean, others are rough, allowing this freedom to create the marks and textures. Where the roller stops and the marks made, the designs are born. If G isn’t in his studio, he can usually be found in the lanes of Somerset on 1 of his many bikes, searching for new ideas.
