Luarca / Ermita de Alba. Quirós
Old St & Mare St from 3pm
Southbank Centre Highlights from 7pm
This is the first of the two Asturian stages, and the second of three consecutive high altitude mountain stages.
Along with the stage in Andorra, taking into the account the number of mountain passes and the accumulated slopes, this will be the other great mountain stage of the 2015 Vuelta. The peloton will face seven mountain passes: the two last ones, the Cobertoria and the Ermita de Alba, are a 1st category climb and a special category climb, respectively. The slope that the peloton will have to overcome will be even greater than the one in Andorra: 5010 metres.
