Wheels for Wellbeing is an award-winning charity supporting disabled people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of cycling.
Think you can't cycle? Think again! Since 2007, WfW have worked with thousands of disabled children and adults who face barriers to taking part in any physical activity.
"We’re determined to show that anyone can enjoy cycling, given the right equipment, support and environment."
Join us for an evening showcasing The Power of Cycling with twice Brompton World Champion Rachel Elliott and profesisonal sports commentator Anthony McCrossan in conversation with inclusive cycling campaigner and Wheels for Wellbeing Director, Isabelle Clement. There will also be a special guest appearance from Touretteshero comedienne, Jess Thom!
Up until 2018, Rachael was racing at the top echelons of cycling in the UK, achieving 1st place in the CVR World Cup finals in Paris, winning the National Circuit Championships as well as the Brompton World Championships twice. In early 2018, Rachael had a haemorrhagic stroke, which has left her partially sighted and with some left-side weakness. She is now training hard and looking to excel in new ways, including tandem racing and eRacing, as engaging with local initiatives to get those involved in crime to channel their energies into sport instead.
Entrance is free, with a suggested donation of £10.00 on the door.
