LBK teaches you how to fix your own bike through classes and drop-in sessions. They're launching a crowdfunder in March to raise money for a second classroom/workshop. This will allow them to teach more classes while simultaneously creating new income streams to make sure they stay afloat.
"We believe that the more you understand about how your bike works, the more likely you are to ride it, and we want to see more butts on bikes!"
They turn 4 years old in March too, so they know they're doing something right. But the winter season is still a financially difficult time, so they are looking to diversify income streams in order to thrive during the colder months. A second workshop would help them teach more popular Build Your Own Bike classes, as well as do repairs for people.
"Our landlord has offered us a second shopfront a few doors down from our current space. It's an offer we can't refuse but we need your help." - Jenni Gwiazdowski, Founder of the London Bike Kitchen.
On the night the link to the crowdfunder will available before anyone else, so you can slide in on those rewards.
There will be FREE CAKE during the GLBKBO (Great London Bike Kitchen Bake Off) Competition. The LBK mechanics have volunteered to go head to head for a bake off, but we could always use more cake - er, we mean competitors - let LBK know if you want to bake off!
There are rumours of free beer too...
